Wedding Wednesday: Regal red and gold

Today's Wedding Wednesday is very, very special indeed!!
I am so excited to be featuring the beautiful, sweet, and lovely Asha who is here to share with us her very own Big day!! As much as I love doing my inspiration boards, there is something way more awesome about getting to see an actual, real life wedding!! Enjoy!!

Hi, my name is Asha and you can find me at my little slice of the blogosphere, Asha's Aspects. I am absolutely thrilled to be Candice's guest for this Wedding Wednesday and I love that she always has such creative wedding ideas. If only I had known her when I was planning my Big Day!

I married my sweet husband and best friend on December 11, 2010 and we had a fairly large wedding with 250 guests to share in our celebration. The color scheme I chose was Red and Gold to honor the Indian side of my heritage as well as the fact that the color combo looks so regal! Ever since I was a little girl I always dreamed of how my wedding day would be and therefore I was very hands-on when the time came. I actually made my own bouquets, table centerpieces, place cards, table cards, invitations, RSVP cards and favors! So without further adieu, here are the details of my Big Day....

Who: Asha, 22 and Daniel, 22 (ages at the time, yes we were so young!)
When: December 11th 2010
Where: Ceremony - Faith Outreach Center, Tampa FL / Reception - Bayanihan Arts & Events Center, Tampa FL
Guests: 250
Theme: classic/traditional

Prior to the Ceremony:

Dress: A-line, strapless (with straps just for the ceremony), beading and open front, medium length train

Dress Cost: reg. $799 but I got it on sale for $399!

Bridesmaid Dresses: long crimson-colored dresses. My bridal party had the option of choosing their own style of dress to show their personality
Hair: Half up with cascading curls. Didn't like it at first (and even cried) but learned to love it

Ceremony:

Invitations: Gold and crimson. They fit my theme perfectly and even matched the table cards and place cards. Bonus: I made them myself!

Rings: princess cut with inlaid princess cut diamonds along the sides. He also has a band with small inlaid princess cut diamonds (still looks manly, though!)

Flowers: My bouquet - red roses/ bridal party- white roses/ centerpieces - red roses with white hydrangeas
The Ceremony: I remember feeling like my legs would not move when it was time to walk into the church! My friends had to give me a pep talk, ha!

Reception:

The Reception: We had a buffet-style dinner with tons of dancing to a variety of music from classical and R&B to indian and spanish music as well!

Cake: We had a 5-tiered red velvet wedding cake with fresh roses as decoration

Transport: A lincoln navigator limo
Favours: Swan favors filled with mints, as well as swans subtly placed elsewhere because one of our favorite places is a park called "Swan Lake" :)
Cost: Due to me making items such as the bouquets, favors and paper items (cards, invites, etc) myself, we cut our cost down tremendously and our total including everything was about $19,000.

I hope you enjoyed seeing a glimpse of my wedding and thanks Candice for having me on your blog :)
love, Asha.

Oh I loved this.. reading about a real wedding on Wedding Wednesday! Greta idea and I LOVED it!

Asha, your dress is divine.. almost exactly the dress I had in mind when I went shopping for mine ( in the end the one I got looks nothing like it but it's a budget wedding so I went with the one on special!) but I just adore those sleeves, always have! You looked beautiful!
